Strat Coffman is a designer working across architecture, performance, and installation. Their work reimagines familiar materials and building systems, transforming them into tactile environments that invite play, contact, and unexpected forms of interaction.
Strat’s practice draws from architecture, industrial systems, and queer performance culture, often reframing standardized details—such as railings, thresholds, hardware, and partitions—as tools for intimacy and public encounter. They collaborate with brands, cultural institutions, festivals, and galleries to create site-specific works that merge conceptual rigor with highly physical, sensory experiences.
Their installations have been presented at Alcova Miami, Materials & Applications, the MAK Center for Art and Architecture, MIT, and Body Zone, and they were awarded the Architectural League Prize in 2024. Strat holds a Master of Architecture from MIT and works between Los Angeles and New York.
Available for commissions, collaborations, and consulting on experiential environments, performance-led spaces, and concept-driven brand activations.
